current year. Riders not to have completed a BE100, BRC HT100 or above in the current
competition year at the close of prelim entries. Riders may not compete at 100 or above in the
same qualifier or championship. Riders not to have competed under FEI 2* rules in the last five
calendar years. Horses maybe registered with BE but must not have any BE points or been placed
in the top six at BE 90 or completed a BE 100 or above in the current or previous calendar year at
close of prelim entry.

Class 13 AREA 5 BRC Area 5 Senior and Junior HT 100+ Team and Individual Qualifier & Points

Open to Senior and Junior members of an affiliated Riding Club that have paid their membership
for the current year. Junior riders must be 12 years old on 1st January in the year they wish to take
part in the Open 100+. Horses or ponies may be registered with BE have an unlimited number of
points. Teams may be made up of juniors and seniors, or all juniors, or all seniors and will be part
of the same competition

The start fee is included in entry fee but refunded if withdrawal before event.

ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 3rd June 2022 12 Midnight. Late entries possibly accepted if space – surcharge of £2.00

Withdrawals: After close of entries no refunds or transfers will be made for withdrawals after midnight on
Wednesday 8th June 2022. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO.

Prelim Entries for those competing in the Qualifier classes must be made for every team and/or individual entering any
qualifier and completed by a senior club representative (or by an individual BRC Member) to the BRC Office 21 days
before the area qualifier, with appropriate fees.
Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser. Team managers must contact the organiser to seek
permission for a late entry in the first instance to see if there is space. Late pre entries must be made online and will be
subject to a £10 surcharge per individual and £20 per team you may enter online using the BRC entry system.

There will be no return of pre-entry fees however a credit note may be issued at the discretion of BRC providing the
request is sent in before the closing date of pre-entries.
Your horse must have up to date Influenza vaccinations in line with the current BRC Rulebook. (Within 12 months of the
competition, and not within 7 days of the event)

RULES
GENERAL RULES ALL CLASSES
Horse/ponies must be 5 years or older.
HAT STANDARDS All hats must have a visible AQUA BRC hat tag in place before they are used for warming up and
competing. There will be a trained steward available on the day that will be carrying out hat tagging if your hat does not
already have a tag.
HATS must be worn whenever mounted and conform to PAS015 (1998 or 2011). VG01.040 2014-12 with a BSI Kite mark
or Inspec IC mark
ASTM F1163.2004a onwards with SEI mark SNELL E2001 or 2016 (No additional mark required)
ONLY Jockey skull hats without a peak (greater than 5mm smooth and rounded in nature) may be worn for cross
country. Hat silks may be worn with flexible peak. It must also comply with the above safety standards for hats.
BODY PROTECTORS A body protector is obligatory for all arena eventing and cross-country events and are also strongly
recommended for all show jumping events. A BETA Level 3 (purple label) which has a 2009 or Blue 2018 label must be
worn. Body protectors should be fitted and worn as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protector and if
activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air jackets and Helite Air Jackets are permitted. It is
recommended that body protectors are replaced once they are more than 5 years old.
Riders wearing Exo Body Cage protectors must inform the secretary at all events.
Back protectors must be presented to the official steward for checking when declaring.
The uses of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited. This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse
or rider.
Medical armbands are advised but not compulsory and must be worn on the arm & filled out with up-to-date
information.
Stop watches are allowed.
Tack and Dress Rules
Please make sure you adhere to tack and dress rules found in the current version of the BRC rules. The full 2022
version is available to download online.
Any horse or pony, which is considered by a Judge, Organiser or Steward to be unsound, unfit or unhealthy, will be
excluded from further competition without any refund of entry fee.
You will be required to print and bring your bib numbers with you.
1. BHS Riding Club “Rules for Official Competitions” 2022 with Area 5 amendments.
2. Objections to be made in writing to the Organisers, accompanied by a deposit of £20, which will be
refunded if the objection is upheld.
3. The course will be open for inspection from 2.00pm on Friday 10th June 2022.
CORRECT dress & footwear with defined heels must be worn. Long hair is to be suitably tied up.
ALL horses and ponies must be five years old and over. ALL Riders to be 8 years old and over.
ENTRIES accepted at rider’s risk. SRC reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or
amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. The Judge’s decision is final.
INSURANCE Each competitor must carry their own liability insurance whether Riding Club, Pony Club, BHS, BS, BD, BE or
independent cover.
HEALTH & SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of
everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and
prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. Those
attending this event must report any accidents to the secretary or organizer of the event
Please do not leave unattended horses tied to lorries and no hay nets to be tied to the outside of lorries or trailers.
Solihull Riding Club welcomes responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
